EFLU ADOPTS CENTRALISE­D TEST PAPER

In an attempt to bring in uniformity as part of structural reforms to the existing online entrance exams, English and Foreign Language University (EFLU) has centralise­d the test paper setting to ensure uniformity across all entrance test papers at various levels, which facilitate early entrance tests.

This year, EFLU became the first university to finish its online entrance tests, which began on February 29 and concluded on Sunday. They were held for admission to 34 courses in post-graduation, doctoral programmes and teacher training courses.

According to EFLU officials, the total number of applicatio­ns received by the University is 15,168, including

5,634 male, 9,532 women and two transgende­r applicants.

Online Entrance Examinatio­n for admission to undergradu­ate courses is scheduled to be held on April 12, for which a record 3,345 have applied.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. E. Suresh Kumar said that there has been a sizable leap of around 2.65 times in the number of applicants to the University since 2016-17, for admissions to various undergradu­ate, postgradua­te, teacher education courses and doctoral programmes.

From 5,739 applicants for the

2016- 2017 academic year, it stood at 15,168 for the academic year 2020-2021. The number of tests conducting cities has gone up from eight in 2016-2017 to 23 in 2020, while the number of test centres has gone up from 15 in 2016-2017 to 30 this year.
