Milind misses century; FMC zip past Zoroastrian in T20s

Mayank Gupta and Arvind Shetty helped Fateh Maidan Club (200/3) register a 12-run win over Zoroastrian Club

(188/4) in the inter-club T20 cricket tournament organised by the Secunderabad Club.

Batting first Mayank, aggressor of the two, hit the opposition bowlers all over the park for a well-made 70 and Arvind added 68 to the team’s tally. Jamsheed’s 88 went in vain as Zoroastrian lost the game.

In another game, Man of the Match C. V. Milind with his brilliant 96 helped hosts Secunderabad Club (188/3) beat Jubilee Hills Club (185/5) by seven wickets. Batting first, Anirudh Sompalli (75) and Vivek Mechineni (44) helped JHC post 185. C. V. Anand impressed with the ball, taking 3/23.

(61) ensured they reached the target with two overs to spare.

In another lop-sided match, Press Club (144/1) trounced

Nizam Club (143/8) by nine wickets to make the semifinal stage. Batting first, Shabaz shone with the bat for Nizam Club with a hard-fought 45 while Mohit (30) played second fiddle. In reply, Shan Muk with his 84 made short work of Nizam Club’s bowlers as Ratna mounted the pressure with his fluent 60.

(149/2) resounding eightwicket victory over New Club

(148/9) in another one-sided affair. Batting first, Vineeth

(58), Shreyas (28) and Sai Venkatesh (23) helped New Club post 148. Praneeth Raj

The first semifinal between Deccan Club and Jubilee Hills Club will be played on March 7 and the second between Secunderabad Club and Press Club will be contested on March 8.
