Activists applaud TRS government’s resolution on CAA in Assembly
There has been an overwhelming response to the resolution passed in the Legislative Assembly regarding CAA, NPR and NRC. Not only leaders from several parties, even the general public appreciated the state government’s move while organisations against the Union Government’s ‘unilateral’ acts welcomed the move and demanded the government to put a stay on NPR.

Chief Minster K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for passing a comprehensive resolution against the CAA, NPR and NRC and hoped that he would ensure that NPR will not be conducted in its present form. In a swift reaction, he also announced withdrawal of their call to lay siege of the Assembly buildings that was scheduled for March 19. He said that they would observe it as a day of invocation and thanksgiving.
State President Jamaat-e Islami Hind, Moulana Hamid Mohammed Khan, asked the government to issue a G.O to hold the process of census and NPR on par with Kerala and Delhi as there is no mention in the resolution about putting a stay on the NPR exercise in the state.

Ulema Hind Moulana Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed contended that Telangana has practically showed that it is in the forefront of safeguarding democratic values and secularism.
Advocate and President Tamir e Millat Syed Jaleel Ahmed, State President Students Islamic Organisation (SIO), Dr Talha Faiyazuddin and General Secretary of Awami Majlis e Amal Mr Mujahid Hashmi appreciated the move while spokesperson of Majlis Bachao Tehreek Mr Amjadullah Khan Khalid said the resolution is not clear about NPR. He criticized AIMIM for not insisting for a stay on NPR.
