RSS blames ‘jihadi-Left’ for confusion on CAA

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Blaming the “jihadi-Left combine,” who with the support of “selfish political parties” involved in communal politics and “some foreign forces,” for creating an atmosphere of “imaginary fear and confusion” in the minds of a section of people over the amended Citizenship Act, the RSS on Monday demanded that the states and central governments “thoroughly investigate” and take appropriate action against these forces who are trying to destroy the communal harmony and national integrity.”

The RSS asserted that the amended Act is to provide citizenship to the unfortunate victims of religious persecution of neighbouring countries and noted that India was partitioned in 1947 on the basis of religion and both the countries had assured safety, honour and equal opportunity to the minorities on their respective sides, which the countries formed after separation from India failed to provide.

The RSS’s Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal or the national executive committee, which met in Bengaluru, approved three resolutions, including on the CAA, Supreme Court’s verdict on Ram Mandir and abrogation of Article 370. The RSS had to suspend the meet of its Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, its highest decision making body in the wake of Covid-19 scare. However, the national executive committee of RSS met in Bengaluru.

On the Ram Mandir issue, the resolution stated that it was a “momentous verdict in the judicial history” and the “highly balanced verdict” given by the honourable Justices “despite a spate of obstructions created during the hearing is a testimony to their unparalleled patience and acumen.” The ABKM also congratulated the central government and the present political leadership for “winning the trust of all sections with patience and fortitude.”

“It is certain that, along with the process of completion of the sacred mandir, the dignity, social harmony, the sense of integrity and the urge to emulate the noble ideals of life of Lord Ram will grow in the society and Bharat will fulfil its mission of establishing peace, goodwill and harmony in the world,” said the resolution.

For the abrogation of Article 370, the ABKM congratulated the Union government and all political parties who supported this “bold and historic decision and displayed a sense of maturity in the national interest.”

The ABKM said the statesmanship and political will showed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team is also praiseworthy.”
