HC grants bail to Revanth

The Telangana High court on Wednesday granted regular bail to Congress MP Anumula Revanth Reddy in a criminal case where he charged with illegal usage of Drone camera to capture images of private properties of individual­s, including some belonging to IT Minister, K.T. Rama Rao.

Justice K. Lakshman, heard the criminal petition filed by Mr Revanth Reddy and granted him bail. While granting the bail, the Judge imposed two conditions on the petitioner (A) to execute two Sureties worth `10,000 each and (B) petitioner is not to interfere with the investigat­ion.

The Judge observed that the accused being a Member of Parliament and considerin­g that the Parliament session is underway, he is being granted bail. He also exempted Mr Revanth Reddy from appearing before the police, given his status as a sitting MP.

Earlier, senior counsel Mr. Salman Khurshid, appeared for Mr Revanth Reddy, and informed the court that all accused were enlarged on bail, a day after their arrest while Mr Revanth Reddy

was under Judicial remand since March 6. Further, he all Sections included by the police in the Remand Order are bailable including Sec.188 IPC.

Public prosecutor Mr. Pratap Reddy submitted that the accused had loitered over private properties,

including the premises of a State Minister. Further, Mr Pratap Reddy explained that this was not a case of bailable and attracted punishment under Sec 336 of Indian Penal code and Section 7 of the Criminal Amendment Act, 1932.
