Chevella murder: Cops fail to make headway Police: Jewellery links woman to Guj. or Maha

The mystery over the identification of the woman, who was found murdered at Chevella continues, as the police could only correlate that the woman could be a native of Maharashtra or Gujarat, based on the type of gold ornaments recovered, which they anticipate belonged to her.

On Tuesday morning, the body of an unidentified woman was found under a bridge located on the outskirts of Thangadpally village in Chevella mandal of Rangareddy district in Cyberabad police commissionerate limits.

The woman was killed and was disrobed before her body was dumped in an isolated area. Her face was smashed with a boulder and her hands were tied. The Chevella police, who registered a case, sent the body to the Chevella government hospital for a postmortem.

The special teams of Cyberabad police, who verified the ornaments with the jewellery stores to learn which part of the country made such designs, found that the woman, aged between 25 and 30 could be hailing from Maharashtra or Gujarat.

Meanwhile, forensic doctors have already made it clear that they did not identify forcible penetration on the woman, which cleared that she was not sexually assaulted, before she was killed.

In addition, leaving behind the gold ornaments cleared that it was not murder for gain.

The doctors informed the investigators that the woman had a habit of using tobacco products after checking her mouth. “The death possibly took place between 2 to 3 am on Tuesday. She was strangulated before her face was smashed with a boulder. She married woman,” sources close to Cyberabad police.

The police have also identified that the ring recovered from the spot was of a new model and also detected a hallmark on it, but has become so difficult to find the ring manufacturer.

The footage of the CCTV cameras installed in nearby places were of no help so far. The viscera and blood samples have been collected and stored and the body is preserved at the Chevella government hospital.

An official from Cyberabad, who is part of the probe said, “She had also undergone a tubectomy procedure. No one has contacted the police so far about a missing woman or close to the descriptions of the woman killed.” is a said the
