Pak reports first two deaths from Covid-19 PAK CLOSES WAGAH BORDER WITH INDIA

Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a province reported Pakistan’s first two deaths from the novel coronaviru­s while 338 patients are infected with the disease across the country on Thursday. Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic as 213 patients have been tested positive for coronaviru­s in it. 45 cases have been confirmed in Balochista­n,

33 in Punjab, 23 in Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a, 15 in Gilgit-Baltistan, eight in Islamabad and one in Pakistan Administra­ted Kashmir.

Eight individual­s who reached Sukkur from Taftan are tested positive for coronaviru­s and two more patients in Karachi have been diagnosed with

COVID-19. The number of sufferers in the metropolis has reached 61. Meanwhile, one more patient in Sindh has recovered taking the count to three.

Twenty-two more cases have been reported in Balochista­n and all of them have been shifted to isolation rooms.

Pakistan Interior Ministry on Thursday closed Wagah Border in order to curb the spread of deadly coronaviru­s in the country.

According to the notificati­on issued by the ministry, the border will remain shut for two weeks.

The notificati­on further stated that the suspension of activities at the border is in the best interest of both Pakistan and India.

The decision was taken after Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a reported Pakistan’s first two deaths from the novel coronaviru­s while 310 patients are infected with the disease across the country.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic as 211 patients have been tested positive for coronaviru­s in it.
