‘Janata curfew’ in mosques
All India Sufi Ulema Council has asked people to gather in mosques and perform repentance and seek forgiveness on Sunday in response to a call from Prime Minister for ‘janata curfew’.
Council president Hakeem Sufi Syed Mohammed Khairuddin Quadri said “instead of spending time engaging in absurd activities at home, we should repent before our creator.”
He appealed to the managing committees of mosques to arrange special congregation of supplications and reciting of Quran and Darood. He also advised collective itikaf in mosques. Itikaf means to be in isolation in the masjid or at home with the intention of solely dedicating time to the worship of the Almighty.
