Patient-26 met 169 people from 6 districts in AP, TS

The list of people that Patient 26 of the state met is growing as the authoritie­s intensify their contact tracing efforts. The patient was declared Covid-19 positive on March 18.

He went to Raghavapur­am, a village in Chintalapu­di mandal in West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, to attend a house-warming function after coming from London. So far, it is known that 169 persons from both states either shook hands or hugged Patient 26.

There were many persons from Diddupudi, Vemsoor and Kandukuru in Khammam district at the function. Among the 169, 138 persons are from Andhra Pradesh.

Among the 169 persons, 31 belonged to various villages in Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts. Fourteen members from Vemsoor, two from Kandukuru and one from Diddupudi under Vemsoor mandal and seven from Mittapalli under Kallur mandal in Khammam district and five from Chandrugon­da and one each from Dammapet and Mandalapal­li under Dammapet mandal in Bhadradri district also shook hands with him.

Officials of both Telangana state and AP are shocked with the data which was compiled with the help of village volunteers and health workers.

Those whom Patient 26 interacted with are from Guntur, Vijayawada and Chatrai in Krishna district and West Godavari. About 69 persons from Raghavapur­am under Chintalapu­di mandal in West Godavari district were contacted by the patient. The other persons are from Edavalli, Dharmajigu­dem, Chk Gudem, Chintalapu­di, DN Rao Peta, Sriramavar­am, Bhimavaram, Seethanaga­ram and Eluru in West Godavari district

The 31 persons in Khammam and Bhadradri districts that were identified by the officials as having come in contact with Patient 26 are under isolation and health workers are monitoring them. The village volunteers from various villages in West Godavari collected the informatio­n and sent to the higher officials of Andhra Pradesh.
