CORONAVIRUS
Covid-19 seems to be an opportunity in disguise to help laying new foundations for the economy, medical infrastructure and policy making. The efforts to beat the pandemic in the early stages must be appreciated when compared to the negligence of developed countries. Nithya Sarvepalli

It is a wise move to manufacture indigenously cheap ventilators to treat Covid-19 patients (Automakers join pandemic fight with ventilators, DC, March 27). The diversification which is easy to adopt by using the existing infrastructure is also beneficial to auto sector because it compensates for low sales of vehicles. I urge the government to give all necessary approvals at the earliest.

Unfortunately, all the good work done by Telangana and AP are getting wiped out by an unnecessary conflict over inter-state migration. Both the CMs should evolve a common procedure of taking or returning their respective citizens by arranging transport. Let us treat everyone equally as the uncertainty looms large.

One of the brutal fallouts of the surge in coronavirus cases is the nasty treatment of health care workers. The few hours they have to rest after continuously serving patients is also lost in looking for alternative accommodation or in arguing with house owners.
