UNANI HOSPITAL DISCHARGES 205 TESTED COVID -VE

The district administra­tion on Wednesday started dischargin­g the 205 patients suspected of being Coronaviru­s (Covid-19) positive from the Government Nizamia General Hospital (Unani), Charminar, who were brought here for testing and kept under quarantine.

After their Covid tests came negative, they are being discharged.

Additional director, AYUSH, and principal, Nizamia Tibbi College, Mohammed Ahsan Farooqui said that 240 suspected Covid patients had been admitted here. Most of them had attended the Tablighi Jamaat’s Markaz in Nizamuddin in Delhi. All patients admitted here tested negative.

Dr Farooqui said that the process of dischargin­g of about 205 patients has started today evening, which will continue till midnight, as patients are being discharged in batches. These patients have completed the first spell of quarantine.

Some of them spent it either at their homes or at other hospitals. The remaining patients will be discharged tomorrow, he said.

All patients being discharged have been instructed to undergo home quarantine till April 21 and have been stamped on their wrist as per national health emergency protocol.

The first patient who was discharged from the Unani Hospital belongs to Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Anees Ahmed said he had come to Hyderabad with other Jamaat members from Ghaziabad and was staying at a mosque in Yakutpura. He said that as per schedule, he was to return on April 15, but authoritie­s instructed him to remain quarantine­d for 15 days.
