He said he hoped to expedite land acquisition issues where link roads work is taken up under packages. At the same time, he said humanitarianism shall prevail towards poor people and labourers who are evacuated,” he instructed officials.

Mr Rama Rao asked officials to provide rehabilitation to evacuated persons. He asked them to maintain a minimum 120 feet road width on roads that are being merged with link roads to national highways.

“In future these areas will be developed multi-fold with these roads,” he said. Coordination between HMDA and other wings on the Strategic Roads Development Programme and link roads is essential,” he said. He explained that the works should be taken up in such a way that it caters to future needs.

The minister announced that the Hyderabad city master plan will be updated soon, keeping in view the requirement that land should be acquired and road work is to be taken up, he said.

Mr Rama Rao instructed officials to acquire lands required on a war footing to complete ongoing railway underpasses, railway over bridges and other new projects. He also said that there was no dearth of funds for land acquisition.
