TS GOVT HIDING DATA ON CENTRAL FUNDS: PONNALA
Congress senior leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah said the TRS government was hiding a range of data from Coronavirus tests to funds released by the Centre and the money collected by the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to fight Covid19.
He demanded that the government come out with details regarding the funding and material received from the Centre, the share of the state in the rice being distributed to the poor and the purpose for which CMRF funds were used.
In an exclusive interview to Deccan
Chronicle, Mr Lakshmaiah, a former state Congress president and ex-minister, accused the government of not implementing Central schemes for the poor.
Mr Lakshmaiah said the government had cut salaries of government employees and others, borrowed about `4,000 crore, received `200 crore own revenue and about `1,300 crore from the Centre besides contributions to the CMRF. “What did the government do with all these funds,” he asked.
On Coronavirus cases, he said that the government was conducting few tests to show a small number of patients. This was done to show that the government had controlled Covid-19.
For the four crore people in the state, the government had tested only 1.5 lakh.
