REAL ESTATE BROKER BOOKED FOR FORGERY

- JAYENDRA CHAITHANYA T. | DC

A real estate broker from Toopranpet in Bhongir district named in seven cases of forgery, impersonation and cheating was detained under the Preventive Detention Act at the Nalgonda district jail by Rachakonda police.

The accused, Aenugu Madhava Reddy, 38, a resident of Vanasthalipuram, ran a real estate agency with his aide P. Sekhar at Toopranpet for 20 years, police said.

Madhava Reddy’s eyes fell on plots of land that had been vacant for long at Green City, Toopranpet.

The duo got copies of the land documents from the sub-registrar's office, created fake documents on the names of the original plot owners and registered the land in the names of their aides. They later sold the land.

Madhava Reddy and Sekhar were arrested by Ramannapet police in 2017, and are facing trial. Reddy was arrested again by the Choutuppal police on February 28 this year. Since 2016, he was involved in seven cases of cheating and forgery and impersonation, said the police.

“To prevent Madhava Reddy from further committing the offences and duping the innocent public, the accused is detained under the Preventive Detention Act at Nalgonda district jail,” said Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat.
