Automobile, AC shops to be open from today

Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao on Friday announced that the state government had decided to allow the opening of automobile showrooms, automobile spare parts outlets and shops selling air conditione­rs from Saturday.

He was reviewing measures taken to contain the spread of Coronaviru­s and implementa­tion of the lockdown at a high-level meeting at Pragathi Bhavan.

The Chief Minister said that the state government will take final call on relaxing the lockdown in the state, which will last till May 29, based on the Centre’s decision on May 17 when Lockdown 3.0 will end.

He said that except in four zones in Hyderabad — LB Nagar, Malakpet, Charminar and Karwan — no new cases were reported in other areas of the

state. He said there were 1,442 families in these four zones.

Some migrant labour in Yadadri-Bhongir, Jangaon and Mancherial districts have tested positive.

Hence it cannot be counted as these districts having positive cases, he said.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao instructed officers to arrange special buses for those reaching Hyderabad by repatriati­on flights to go to other states from the airport. All those reaching the city would be tested, and those found positive would be sent to hospital for quarantine. “Otherwise put them in home quarantine,” the CM said.

He told officials to conducts tests on migrant labourers reaching here the state by trains and send people to their respective states.

To prevent the spread of seasonal diseases with the arrival of the monsoon next month, he asked officials to take up sanitation works and spray sodium hypochlori­de disinfecta­nt five times in a month.

He asked ministers K.T. Rama Rao and Dayakar Rao to hold videoconfe­rences and give suggestion­s to officials on urban and rural areas on sanitation works. He instructed Mr Rama Rao and minister Etala Rajendar to open 45 more Basthi Dawakhanas as they had got a good response. He instructed officials to conduct Haritha Haram programme from June 20.
