Stormy weather set to follow heatwave

There will be no relief for at least two more days, till Wednesday, from the daily high temperatur­es and ongoing heatwave, the Indian Meteorolog­ical Department said on Monday. When the heatwave ends, it is likely to be followed by two days of stormy weather over some parts of the state.

The IMD on Monday said Adilabad registered the highest temperatur­e of the day at 46.3º Celsius. The lowest maximum temperatur­e was 40.8ºC at

Dindigul while Hyderabad registered 42.4 degrees.

The day was torrid in the city, with the website accuweathe­r.com saying the heat “felt like 48ºC” at about 2 pm. At 6.30 pm, the temperatur­e had fallen to

37ºC which “felt like

41ºC”.
