FAKE NEWS ON LOCKDOWN BUSTED

A fake news that went viral on social media that the government would impose a total lockdown for 24 hours after Idul-Fitr is celebrated to sanitise public places caused needless confusion amongst people throughout the weekend.

The URL from a little known site contained hashtags like breaking news, Telangana, Covid 19, and lockdown. Confused people who started asking questions about it unwittingly spread it further.

A query to the Chief Minister's Office confirmed that the news was fake and spread by someone with an intent to spread mischief.
