- JAYENDRA CHAITHANYA T. | DC

Upset after being scolded by his family for sharing a video abusing his cousin, a 24-yearold driver from Bhongir committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Raigir on Sunday night.

According to the Bhongir Government Railway Police (GRP), which is conducting the investigation, the victim, Annampatla Vamshi Krishna,

24, a resident of Baswapur in Bhongir mandal, was reportedly in a relationship with his cousin, who is eight years elder to him. Even after her marriage, the duo maintained contact for some years.

For the last three to four months, she began avoiding Vamshi due to his frequent phone calls. With that, Vamshi recorded a video abusing her and alleging that she had cheated him and shared it in the WhatsApp groups of the villagers, police said. His family scolded him for that.

“At around 7.40 pm, Vamshi drove his cousin, a minor, went to the outskirts of Raigir in a car and parked the vehicle. He left the phone in the car and went away. When he did not return, the boy alerted his family who called the police,” Bhongir GRP sub-inspector Kantha Rao said.
