Bhatti attacks KCR over pvt varsities
Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for permitting private universities in the state and said they undermine government-run universities from where movement for Telangana statehood started.
Addressing a press conference at the Assembly media point on Monday, Mallu Bhatti felt the move will damage the prospect of economically backward classes. There is also the risk of poor and middleclass students suffering. They getting jobs will also become difficult.
The CLP leader said it is ridiculous to give permission to start private universities to minister Ch. Malla Reddy, Rythu Bandhu Samithi chairman Palla Rajeswar Reddy and Varda Reddy, who contested as MLC on the ruling party ticket.
The CLP leader maintained that in the past, the Congress government has already set up universities in each district of the state as also IIITs. Not a single university has been established in the state after formation of Telangana state by the TRS government. And now, the “self-fulfilling idea” of starting private universities has come. He demanded that the government withdraw the permission for establishing private universities in the state.
