RAHUL ATTACKS PM, CALLS HIM ‘SURENDER MODI’

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Congress on Sunday kept up the pressure on the NDA government at Centre over Chinese aggression saying until the status quo is restored, the government should not let up or appear to cede any part of Indian territory to the Chinese. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi attacked the Prime Minister saying Narendra Modi is actually “Surender Modi”.

Quoting a media article on the Chinese imbroglio, Gandhi tweeted: “Narendra Modi is actually Surender Modi”.

“The Prime Minister said that no one entered India and no one captured Indian territory. But satellite images show that China has captured Indian territory near Pegong Valley,” he said.

Senior lawyer and Congress Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal said, “Let no one in the Central Government remain in denial. Until the Chinese retreat and status quo ante is restored, our government should not let up or appear to cede any part of these territories to the Chinese”.

China’s brazen transgressions into India’s territory in the Galwan Valley, Pangong Tso Lake Area and Hot Springs cannot be accepted. Any attempt by China to illegally appropriate India's territory will be repelled,” he said.

Questioning the PM’s assertion at an all-party meeting in the context of Chinese intrusions across the LAC that no one has entered Indian territory, he asked as to why the Prime Minister was denying his own Raksha Mantri and External Affairs Ministry statement that Chinese have sought to “erect structure in the Galwan Valley on our side”?
