Covid cases in Hyd fall to 298, districts record 1,633
Greater Hyderabad witnessed a steep fall in
Covid-19 cases with the health department reporting that 298 fresh cases were found till Wednesday evening, down from 479 cases recorded on Tuesday.
In its latest bulletin on
Covid-19, the department on Thursday said 1,931 new cases were recorded across the state along with
11 fatalities in the 24-hour period between Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
With the new cases, the total Covid-19 infected people rose to 86,475 while the number of deaths increased to 665.
The department said
1,780 patients had recovered from the disease taking their total number to
63,074 while another 22,736 persons were still undergoing treatment either at their homes or in hospitals.
It said 23,303 tests were conducted in the 24-hour period with results awaited for 706 from these tests. Following the GHMC’s 298 new cases, was Warangal Urban district with 144 cases, and Ranga Reddy district with 124 new cases.
The department said
1,633 fresh cases came from all the non-GHMC area districts. The last time in the past week that any district reported zero cases was on August 9 when no new Coronavirus
infections were reported from KumrambheemAsifabad district. From August 10, every one of the 33 districts in the state have been recording new cases.
While the government
said 2,662 patients were undergoing treatment in
56 of its hospitals across the state, a total of 4,453
Covid-19 patients were receiving treatment in 118 private hospitals, the bulletin said.
