ATCHANNAIDU TESTS +VE AT RAMESH HOSP
Former minister and TD legislator K. Atchannaidu tested positive for Coronavirus despite undergoing treatment for his illness in Ramesh Hospital at Guntur.
He was in judicial remand in the multi-crore ESI scam and was undergoing treatment in Ramesh Hospital for piles for the past 35 days. When he began suffering from a cold and cough, the doctors conducted the Covid-19 test which came positive on Thursday.
TD general secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh alleged that YSRC government had arrested Atchannaidu despite knowing about his piles surgery and continued to harass him as they were bent on politics of vengeance.
MP Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu confirmed that his uncle had tested positive and said that Atchannaidu was a fighter and he would conquer the disease. Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials had arrested him from Nimmada village in Srikakulam district on June 12 for his alleged involvement in irregularities in purchase of equipment, medicines and other items by Directorate of Insurance and Medical Services from 2104 to
2019. He was shifted to Government General Hospital (GGH) at Guntur due to health issues as per the directions of the court. He was discharged after a minor surgery on July
1 while TD activists objected to the discharge. He was later admitted in Ramesh Hospital as per the interim orders of the High Court on July 8.
Atchannaidu's advocate Maguluri Hari Babu said that doctors were regularly submitting his health reports to the court as per its directions.
