The re­cently an­nounced Gramo­daya Bandhu Mi­tra Puraskar in­sti­tuted by Gramo­daya Cham­ber of Com­merce and Tech­nol­ogy (GCOT) was pre­sented to Dr Govinda Ra­julu Chin­tala, chair­man, Na­tional Bank for Agri­cul­ture and Ru­ral De­vel­op­ment (Nabard).

The award was pre­sented by Dr V. Praveen Rao, Vice Chan­cel­lor of the Prof Jayashanka­r Te­lan­gana State Agri­cul­ture Uni­ver­sity. The award was con­ferred on Dr Ra­julu in recog­ni­tion of his con­tri­bu­tion to the bet­ter­ment of the ru­ral econ­omy in In­dia.

Delhi Vas­anth, founder and CEO of GCOT, said the yeo­man ser­vice ren­dered by Dr Ra­julu for growth of the ru­ral econ­omy and his var­i­ous ini­tia­tives led to im­prove­ment in liv­ing stan­dards of the peo­ple.

GCOT is a not-for-profit so­cial en­ter­prise, founded by the alumni of Os­ma­nia Uni­ver­sity as part of the uni­ver­sity’s cen­te­nary cel­e­bra­tions in 2017 with the goal of im­prov­ing the lives of peo­ple in ru­ral ar­eas.
