- DC CORRESPONDENT

In an effort to put to rest intense speculations over his surprise IPL pullout, Suresh Raina on Tuesday took to Twitter to say he was grieving his relatives who were murdered in a midnight robbery.

Raina however, didn’t specify that was the exact reason for his leaving the CSK camp.

Ever since he took a redeye to reach India last weekend, various reports have claimed there was ‘a serious bubble breach’, ‘team rift’ and a ‘hotel room issue’ that led to Raina’s return.

A day after CSK boss N. Srinivasan issued a denial saying his comments on Raina were wrongly attributed, the cricketer said his uncle was murdered in a “horrible” incident in Pathankot.

“What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had severe injuries. Unfortunately, my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical and is on life support (sic),” Raina tweeted.

Raina also requested the

Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh to look into the matter.

“Till date, we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I request @PunjabPoliceInd to look into this matter. We at least deserve to know who did this heinous act to them. Those criminals should not be spared to commit more crimes,” his second tweet added.

New Delhi, Sept. 1: Legspinner Adam Zampa has been called up by Royal Challengers Bangalore to replace fellow Australian Kane Richardson, who pulled out of the Indian Premier League for the birth of his first child.
