Metro Rail to restart with Miyapur-Nagole service

HMRL to run trains at 5-minute frequency under Covid protocol

Hyderabad Metro Rail services (HMRL) will restart its operations in the city in three phases starting on September 7 with resumption of services on corridor 1, between Miyapur and LB Nagar, with train services offered from 7 am to noon and then again from 4 pm to 9 pm.

In the second phase of operations, the HMRL will restart its services in corridor 3, between Nagole and Raidurg, on September 8 that will follow the 7 am to noon, and 4 pm to 9 pm schedule, while the third phase services will begin on September 9 with resumption of services on corridor 2, between Jubilee and Mahatma Gandhi bus stations.

In a release, the HMRL said beginning September 9, services on all three corridors will begin at 7 am and run continuous­ly till 9 pm.

The frequency of trains will be around five minutes and it will be improved or decreased based on passenger traffic

and to avoid crowding, the HMRL said.

It also said that the Gandhi Hospital, Bharatnaga­r, Moosapet, Musheeraba­d and Yusufguda Metro stations in Covid-19 containmen­t zones will remain closed until further notice.

These decisions were

announced after a meeting chaired by HMRL managing director N.V.S. Reddy, attended by L&TMRHL managing director, K.V.B. Reddy and senior officials of the two companies here on Thursday.

ty measures for the resumption of the services. The meeting was also attended by L&TMRHL chief operating officer, Anil Kumar Saini, senior HMRL officers, D.V.S. Raju, S.K.Das, Ananda Mohan, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy and B.N. Rajeswar among others.
