250 MPs back new move on Telangana
NEW DELHI, Sept. 3 Two hundred and fifty members of Parliament have subscribed to a new proposal for an executive set-up designed to meet the aspirations of the people of Telangana region without breaking up the Telugu-speaking Andhra Pradesh.
A memorandum incorporating the proposal was submitted to the Prime Mini s t e r M r s . Ind ira Gandhi, this afternoon. The proposal is for statutorily making a committee of Andhra Pradesh Cabinet (comprising of all its Telangana Ministers) responsible to the Telangana Regional Committee for the implementation of the commitee’s decisions on matters affecting economic development, planning and education in the Telangana. — PTI & UNI.
