MAN KILLS MOTHER FOR CRITICISING HIM

A man allegedly stabbed his mother to death with a knife at Chandapur village in Jagatsinghpur district late on Wednesday night.

According to reports, accused Nityananda Das was being questioned by police at his house over attacking a person in the locality when his mother Kalyani (65) criticised his action and reprimanded him.

In a fit of rage, Nityananda thrust a knife into the woman leaving her grievously injured. She was rushed to Raghunathpur Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead.

On the other hand, police with the help of fire personnel managed to apprehend the accused who went onto the roof holding the weapon of crime and threatened that he would kill himself if any attempts are made to arrest him.

In another gruesome act, a man allegedly attacked and slit the throats of his father and elder brother over property dispute at Ganesh Bazaar in Daspalla here in Nayagarh district on Wednesday night.

The victims were identified as Harihar Sahoo and his elder son Laxmidhara Sahoo while the one who attacked the duo is named Santosh Sahoo.
