TELUGU BIGG BOSS STAR HELD FOR TONSURING A DALIT

The police arrested Telugu Bigg Boss star N. Nutan Naidu in connection with the tonsuring of a 20-year-old Dalit youth, Parri Srikanth, and allegedly impersonating P.V. Ramesh, retired additional chief secretary to the AP government, to protect his wife N. Priya Madhuri, the prime accused in the case.

On August 29, the city police had arrested seven persons, including Madhuri, on charges of assaulting and tonsuring Srikanth the previous day in Naidu’s house. Police said he abused Srikanth in casteist terms over the phone.

A girl threw acid on her boyfriend on Friday, injuring him severely on the face, head and left hand. The incident occurred at Peddakottala near Nandyalm where both the attacker and the victim stay.

This was the second attack on the man, Nagendra, 24, by Supriya, 20. Last week, she had thrown acid at him and injured him on the hand. Police said Supriya and Nagendra had been in a relationship for three years but he had married another woman.

According to circle inspector Diwakar Reddy, Nagendra’s parents had not allowed him to marry Supriya, a Dalit, over caste issues. Police said Nagendra informed Supriya and married another woman belonging to his caste on August 13 at the Mahanandi temple.

On Friday morning, Supriya went to Nagendra’s house and argued with him. Later, when he was going on a motorbike in front of her house, Nagendra slowed slowed at a speedbreaker when Supriya threw acid at him, said the circle inspector.
