SSR case: NCB arrests Showik
After the Bandra-based drug peddler’s revelation of arranging drugs for Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested him along with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda after grilling them throughout the day on Friday.
The arrests came close on heels with raids conducted at their residences earlier in the day by the NCB from where the officials seized electronic gadgets and scores of documents.
The officials had summoned Showik and Miranda for questioning after completing searches at their residences. The action came after peddler Abdul Basit Parihar revealed he supplied narcotics substances to Showik. Parihar was earlier arrested and produced before the Esplanade court and sent to NCB custody till September 9 for further investigation. The NCB first arrested Zaid Vilatra, who is also a Bandra-based peddler. Vilatra’s links with Rhea and Showik are being probed.
The officials said that his questioning reve-aled Parihar, whose direct connection with Showik has now come to the fore.
“The data from seized gadgets will be retrieved to dig deeper into the suicide probe. The documents will be scanned to understand if any of them are related with the case,” said an officer privy to the probe. Statement of Parihar and Vilatra has revealed some more names and the agency is now probing the larger nexus involving the brothersister and other celebrities.
