Covid cases in TScross 1.5 lakh
Telangana state crossed the 1.5-lakh mark in the number of Covid-19 cases. The state as of Wednesday evening had
1,50,176 Coronavirus infections, the state health department has said.
The state crossed the one-lakh mark on August
22, meaning that it has added 50,000 cases in 17 days. The state reached the 50,000 mark in July
22, and took a month to reach the one-lakh mark. The caseload has doubled in 32 days, going from about 75,000 on August 7 to 1.5 lakh on September.
The number of those dead from the disease continued to creep up, with 10 more fatalities taking the Covid-19 toll to
927.
The Covid-19 bulletin released by the department on Thursday said that as on Wednesday 8 pm, the state recorded
2,534 new cases. A total of
1,17,143 patients have recovered from the disease. There were 32,106 active Covid-19 cases of whom 25,066 were in home or institutional isolation.
Twelve districts continued to record cases ranging from the 80s to more than 100 while the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area continued to lead the daily Covid-19 tally.
The department said 327 new cases were recorded in GHMC limits. Ranga Reddy district had 195 new cases, Nalgonda had

132, Kamareddy 123, Warangal Urban 124, Khammam 109, Karimnagar
107, Siddipet 103, Sangareddy 96, Nizamabad 90, Suryapet 83, and Bhadadri-Kothagudem district recorded 81 new cases.
There were 2,684 patients being treated in government hospitals of whom 1,227 were on supplementary oxygen and another 636 were in the intensive care units. In private hospitals, there were 4,356 patients with 1,985 on supplementary oxygen and 917 in ICU wards, the health department said.
