He year 2020 is definitely a year that will be ear-marked in history. So far, it’s brought us the COVID-19 pandemic and the global civil uprising, warranting justice for black lives and police reforms. Closer home, it brought the CAA protests at Shaheen Bagh and the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, which brought to light an array of socio–political issues including mental health, nepotism, patriarchy and the drug mafia in Bollywood. But guess what the even wilder news is? The year is not over yet! The Astro events of January 2020 began with a cosmic bang that gave us the Capricorn lunar eclipse full moon on 10 January, but this celestial event paled in comparison to the effects of the intense Saturn and Pluto conjunction in Capricorn on 12 January. Remember that Pluto is a powerful planet that rules financial matters, masses of people and — well — viruses. So, within just a few days of the eclipse and the Saturn and Pluto conjunction, the World Health Organisation announced a coronavirus-related illness spreading in Wuhan, China. In hindsight, we now know that this was the beginning of a massive shift in power dynamics and the emergence of a global pandemic. What’s more, Saturn and Pluto will conjunct on 21 December, creating confusion, upheaval and revolution, as well as probably the last wave of the deadly Coronavirus. Amidst all this, here’s wishing all of us to understand that all the Astro events are preparing us for a whole new era. So brace yourself, believe in yourself and wait for miracles to happen.
