TS records 2,058 new Covid infections, 10 more deaths
Out of 1,60,571 cases so far, 1,12,400 are asymptomatic, says health dept

2,058 new Covid-19 cases taking the total Coronavirus infections so far to 1,60,571 even as the number of deaths from the disease reached 984 with the health department reporting 10 more fatalities.
The department, in its
Covid-19 bulletin on Tuesday, said the state had
30,400 active cases as on Monday 8 pm. It said 2,180 persons had recovered between Monday and Tuesday evenings taking the number of people discharged or considered recovered so far in the state to 1,29,187.
Of the total 1,60,571 cases so far, 1,12,400 have been asymptomatic while 48,781 have had symptoms of the disease, the department said. It also revised its per centages of asymptomatic and symptomatic cases so far to 70 and 30 respectively from 69 and 31.
It may be recalled that until the break-up of asymptomatic and symptomatic cases was included in the Covid-9 bulletin, the government had been claiming that anywhere from 80 per cent to 90 per cent of the people catching the virus in the state were asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, 277 more residents of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits were declared as Covid-19 positive by the department. This number was 143 for Ranga Reddy, 135 for Karimnagar, 108 for Warangal Urban, 106 for Siddipet, and 103 for Khammam districts. New cases in their nineties were recorded in MedchalMalkajgiri (97), and Nalgonda (96) districts.
