HCU ASKED TO RESCHEDULE ITS ENTRANCE TEST

-

Telangana State Planning Board vice chairman B. Vinod Kumar has requested University of Hyderabad (UoH) to reschedule its entrance examinations for P.G., M. Phil and PhD admissions.

In a letter to the university vice chancellor, Vinod Kumar said a large number of degree and PG students from all Telangana universities are appearing for their end-semester and final year examinations scheduled from September 22 to October 13.

He said any move of UoH to conduct entrance examinations during these days will adversely impact careers of students who are aspiring to take admission into the University of Hyderabad.

He said that he had received several representations stating that the UoH is planning to conduct its entrance examinations from September 24 to 26 and the National Testing Agency (NTA) is also conducting UGC NET examinations from September 24. He pointed out that conducting entrance exams on the same dates will impact MPhil and Ph D applicants also.

The planning board vice chairman said University of Hyderabad has been established after a long-drawn struggle for a separate Telangana movement and as part of six-point formula and Article 371 (D). He told the vice chancellor that the university has to keep the interests and avenues of Telangana students in view whenever it plans to conduct entrance examinations in future.

Vinod Kumar made it clear that any attempt to undermine future prospects of students of the state will not be acceptable and shall be viewed seriously by policy makers, stakeholders and intellectuals from Telangana.
