Andhra Pradesh’s death toll of

Covid-19 infected patients has crossed 5k mark with 5,041 patients succumbing to the virus so far. The state registered

8,846 new Covid-19 cases taking its tally to 5,83,925 with 69 deaths in the last 24 hours. The state’s Covid-19 bulletin reported that out of 70,511 samples tested, 8,846 individual­s have been found infected with coronaviru­s. Out of 47,31,866 samples tested so far, 4,86,531 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery, while

92,353 patients are still active with the virus.

East Godavari continues to lead the state with the highest number of new infections at

1,423, followed by 979 in Prakasam, 955 in West Godavari, 820 in Nellore, 678 in Srikakulam, 661 in Kadapa, 641 in Guntur, 574 in Visakhapat­nam, 572 in Chittoor,

532 in Vizianagar­am, 398 in Krishna, 314 in Kurnool and 299 in Anantapur.

In terms of cumulative confirmed Coronaviru­s infections, East Godavari has been affected badly with the highest number of 79,643 cases, followed by

52,520 in West Godavari, 52,280 in Kurnool, 50,718 in Chittoor,

50,088 in Anantapur, 46,645 in Guntur, 44,950 in Nellore, 44,912 in Visakhapat­nam, 37,865 in Prakasam, 33,425 in Srikakulam, 37,152 in Kadapa, 28,959 in Vizianagar­am, 21,873 in Krishna, 2,461 from states and 434 from other countries. The rate of recovery of Coronaviru­sinfected patients has been good in East Godavari at 67,180, followed by 47,977 in Kurnool,

46,166 in Anantapur, 42,959 in West Godavari, 42,231 in Chittoor, 40,029 in Nellore,

38,997 in Guntur, 38,565 in Visakhapat­nam, 31,524 in Kadapa,

26,852 in Srikakulam, 23,821 in Prakasam, 18,708 in Vizianagar­am, 18,627 in Krishna, 2,461 from other states and 434 from other countries.

Chittoor continues to lead the state with the highest number of cumulative deaths of Covid

19 infected patients to the tune of 543, followed by 469 in Guntur, 464 in East Godavari,

425 in Kurnool, 420 in Anantapur, 398 in Nellore, 396 in West Godavari, 389 in Prakasam, 368 in Visakhapat­nam, 357 in Krishna,

315 in Kadapa, 293 in Srikakulam and 204 in Vizianagar­am.

The state health authoritie­s have discharged 9,628 Covid-19 patients as they recovered from various hospitals in the last 24 hours.
