Inside track of Jagan-Shah meeting

-

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent meeting with Union home minister Amit Shah has become a hot topic of debate in political circles. Contrary to public pronouncements that the CM had discussed many issues concerning the state, sources said his main agenda was to tell his side of the story in the ongoing tussle with the High Court. Also on the agenda was to explain to the No. 2 man at the Centre the insider trading of land in Amaravati and a few other issues concerning a powerful man in the judiciary. Grapevine has it that the CM made use of the services of an advocate, son of a former SC judge from the state, in building up his case. The advocate was called to the Shah-CM meeting but only for a brief moment. After documentary evidence collected against the powerful figure was handed over, the invitee had to leave. The curious moments continued even after Jagan left for Tirupati. The same evening, sources say, a YSRC parliamentarian who aspires to become No. 2 in the state hosted a dinner for his fellow MP from the state who had switched loyalties to the BJP and a young and a flamboyant leader from Rayalaseema who contested the last Lok Sabha polls on a TD ticket. The sad part is that while the young politician is having a gala time with ruling party leaders in Delhi, his close relatives are languishing in jail in cases which they alleged were foisted out of political vendetta.
