Another story of tortures in a cult

Catherine Oxenberg’s daughter India finally opens up about the tortures she underwent while in the NXIVM Cult

As per reports in www. dailymail. co. uk, India Oxenberg, daughter Catherine Oxenberg, best known for her role as Joan Collin’s daughter in the 1980s’ soap opera Dynasty, is opening up about the torture she underwent in the NXIVM (pron oun c e d “Nexium”) Cult, which was founded in 1998 by Keith Raniere. She claims she undertook some of the tortures to prove her loyalty to its predator founder.

Two new documentary series, of which Seduced: Inside the Nxivm Cult is one, attempt to investigate the deeply disturbing scandal of the Nxivm cult and young women such as India who were so deeply under its spell, they were willingly became sex slaves and get branded with “KR”, the initials of the group’s founder. NXIVM’s claims that it was empowering people to improve the world was obviously just a cover for the abuse of vulnerable young women.

India was apparently only 19 years old when she was introduced to the cult by her mother when the duo took a ‘self-help’ executive success programme. While Catherine decided she didn’t want to have anything to do with the cult soon after, India got increasingly involved with the cult, going to become also a member of DOS, a secret sorority within the NXIVM Cult, which is where she went on to brand herself with the founder’s initials. While Catherine devoted years to bring her daughter out of the cult’s clutches, sometimes even fearing she lost her for good, India found herself out of it after being in it for 7 years, and is now appearing in the documentary. Keith, who called himself Vanguard in the cult, is in prison awaiting sentencing after being convicted of sex trafficking, racketeering and possessing child pornography.
