KCR sanctions college in Nomula’s constituency Funds for lift irrigation schemes in Nalgonda approved
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has sanctioned a degree college for Halia mandal in Nagarjunasagar assembly segment, whose legislator Nomula Narasimha, belonging to the ruling party, passed away recently.
In addition to government degree college, the CM okayed funds for various lift irrigation schemes in Nalgonda district, which will also benefit farmers and people belonging to the
Nagarjunasagar segment.
Incidentally, as the sitting MLA has died, a byelection is expected in the Nagarjunasagar assembly constituency within six months. In all probability, polls will be held here along with the West Bengal Assembly General Elections.
Keeping in view the Dubbak experience, it appears KCR wants to please people of Nagarjunasagar constituency with announcement of some more schemes and projects that benefit the segment. He will do it
assembly much in advance and before the Election Commission of India announces the schedule for this by-election.
The state government on Sunday issued orders according administrative sanction for Keshavapuram-Kondarapole Lift Irrigation Scheme, releasing `. 7,593 lakh to construct the project on Musi River near Damarcherla of Nalgonda district. The scheme will provide water to irrigate 5,875 acres in the district. The project will be executed through the Telangana State Irrigation Development Corporation (TSIDC).
Similarly, the government okayed Nellikal Lift Irrigation Scheme on the foreshore of Nagarjunasagar reservoir by releasing `. 7,216 lakh though TSIDC. The project will provide water to irrigate 4,175 acres in the district. The project, which was proposed in Nellikal village of Tirumalagiri mandal, will ultimately benefit farmers of the Nagarjunasagar segment.
