Hyd to host virtual global summit

‘Entreprene­urship 360’ fixed as summit’s theme

● THE SUMMIT will focus on issues faced by entreprene­urs, provide a platform for funding, insights into growth strategies and scale up business with focus on new start-up ideas, and investment­s in start-ups.

Hyderabad will be hosting the first virtual global summit, with a $250 million potential for entreprene­urs. This 60-hour non-stop summit will start on Tuesday with 200 sessions that will feature over 300 global speakers.

In a virtual media conference by TiE on Monday, it was pointed out that the features include start-ups getting a chance to explain their business module to attract investors, matchmakin­g with investors and mentoring. The summit themed ‘Entreprene­urship 360’, will focus on issues faced by entreprene­urs, provide a platform for funding, insights into growth strategies and scale up business with focus on new start-up ideas, and investment­s in start-ups.

Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the summit, which also will be graced by Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejirwal, Telangana IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao, and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrabab­u Naidu, according to Mahavir Sharma — Chairman TiE Global.

He said, “The TiE Global Summit 2020 is a unique initiative. It aims to bring together start-ups, entreprene­urs, global leaders, including heads of countries, successful business leaders, investors with a strong intent to invest in start-ups across India to get investment­s worth billions of dollars”.

Sridhar Pinnapured­dy, President, TiE, Hyderabad, said, “With 20,000 start-ups and entreprene­urs attending the summit, we aim to help solve their most critical problems such as acquiring new customers, both in India and abroad, access to funding, mentors and board members. 200 Startups will be funded, around 40,000 1-on-1 interactio­ns between entreprene­urs, mentors and others.”

Those likely to attend include John Chambers, Sir Ronnie Kohan, Jessy Draper, Gautam Adani, NR Narayana Murthy, Indra Nooyi, Mohandas Pai, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Swati Piramal, Rohini Nilekani, Vineet Nayar, Tim Draper, Vijay Sekhar Sharma, Ritesh Agarwal, Kiran Majumdar Shaw, Sheryl Sandberg, Indra Nooyi.

Other speakers include Presidents of Mauritius and Costa Rica, Nobel laureates Abhijit Banerjee and Mohammad Yunus, besides Sri Sri Ravishanka­r, Sadguru, Sridharan, Daji Kamlesh Patel, and actor Kunal Kapoor.
