Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Trade addressed some of the challenges faced by traders. Sanjay assured the federation that he would arrange a video conference with the respective Union ministers to resolve problems being faced by traders in the state.

Prakash Ammanabolu, federation president, said the discussions were apolitical and aimed at bringing to the attention of leaders of political parties the challenges faced by the trader community.

Traders, he said, want a simplified GST filing system and look forward to the Centre extending Covid-19 lockdown benefits to their sector too, along with some urgent relief on payment of interests on bank loans.

The federation members deal in 29 major trades such as textiles, readymade garments, hotels, footwear, hardware, electricals, electronics, jewellery, automobile spare parts, mobile phones, medicals, vegetables, kirana, and groceries among others. There are 11 lakh traders in Telangana state.
