4 building workers killed in 2 separate accidents
Four persons from the city were killed in two different road accidents at Petbasheerabad and Abdullapurmet areas of Cyberabad and Rachakonda respectively.
In the first incident, two construction workers died after a trolley loaded with iron rods and construction material overturned at a construction site in Petbasheerabad on Tuesday afternoon. Police said the mishap occurred when the foundation laying work was being taken up for an apartment.
“The trolley driver, who reportedly attempted to get down a slope to unload the construction material, lost control of the vehicle, which went out of control and down the slope. It overturned at the end of the slope, crushing under it the two workers, identified as Upender and Manohar, who were in a pit being laid for pillars at the site,” police said, adding that a case was booked and the bodies were shifted for postmortem examination. In the second csae, two persons, identified as Jangaiah and Mohammed, both construction workers, were killed in a mishap after a rashly driven truck hit them at Abdullapurmet on the city outskirts on Tuesday morning. Police said the incident occurred when the two were proceeding on a bike from their village towards Banda Ravirala side. “Both sustained grievous bleeding injuries and succumbed on the spot” said the Abdullapurmet police, adding that they are investigating the case and efforts are on to nab the absconding truck driver.
