Incorporate fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet.
Drink plenty of water to beat your craving.
Eat fibre-rich foods such as beans, pulses and nuts to help curb your appetite.
Avoid eating out of boredom or loneliness.
Note down the foods you eat, and how they make you feel.
Keep a record of emotions and mood triggers.
Avoid store-bought junk food.
Going to bed and waking up at regular times helps to build a better control over your emotions and thus helps control your urges to over eat. Moreover, insufficient sleep is tied to binge eating. So, if you find it difficult to sleep, then stay away from things that affect sleep (like watching
TV, using electronic gadgets or drinking caffeinated beverages before going to bed).
Stay physically active and exercise daily. Opt for swimming, dancing, yoga, running, aerobics or jogging. Plan your meals and make sure you incorporate healthy ingredients. Pay attention to your portion size, and avoid overloading.
Avoid lying down soon after eating. Eat small, frequent meals.
Stay away from acidic and spicy food, sugar and processed oils.
Say No to alcohol and smoking. Maintain a good posture and weight.
Do not drink onion or tomato juice, and avoid raw onions.
