As D-Day draws near, top BJP leaders reach out to graduates

Telangana BJP leaders, especially from the state’s southern region, are worried about their political future if the party does not perform well in the ensuing graduate constituen­cy elections to the Legislativ­e Council. This fear is driving them to go the extra mile in convincing voters to back their nominees.

Towards this, leaders from Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnaga­r and Hyderabad districts are meeting young voters, in particular, in their respective Assembly constituen­cies.

BJP vice-president D.K. Aruna has worked relentless­ly to muster the support of voters in erstwhile

Mahbubnaga­r district, besides coordinati­ng with Assembly-wise and second level leaders. Aruna is concentrat­ing on teachers, lecturers unions, student organisati­ons, retired employees associatio­n and employees associatio­n for bolstering BJP prospects.

Electionee­ring and interactio­n with the Nalgonda electorate is spearheade­d by Mothkupall­i Narasimhul­u and Sankineni Venkateswa­r Rao, who are touring their Assembly segments daily and pockets where they hold sufficient influence. They are appealing to the voters to ensure the win of party candidate Gujjula Premender Reddy.

Meanwhile, key leaders from Mahbubnaga­r like A.P. Jithender Reddy and Yennam

Srinivas Reddy are engaged in a field-level campaign for party candidate N. Ramchander Rao. Canvassing actively taken up by A. Chandrasek­har, who recently joined the BJP, in Vikarabad district. National BC Commission member Acharya and Mahbubnaga­r district president Erra Shekhar and other leaders are also working for Ramchander Rao’s win.

In Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts, former MLAs Chinatala Ramachandr­a Reddy, N.V.S.S. Prabhakar, and Kuna Srisailam Goud, former Mayor Banda Kartika, Ravikumar Yadav, Vikram Goud and others are extensivel­y touring their respective constituen­cies.
