I salute Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the medical staff, scientists and those concerned associated with the countrywide vaccination drive against the Covid-19 pandemic. We had gone to a hospital in New Bowenpally, Secunderabad, for our first dose of vaccination at 2 pm and returned home by

3.30 pm. We had to give details of the ID card etc., and the rest was taken care of by the healthcare workers. While these procedures took half-an-hour the injection took about five seconds after which we were made to wait for

30 minutes.

A day after Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray claimed his father Balasaheb Thackeray was proud of Babri mosque demolition, Samajawadi Party legislator and Abu Asim Azmi asked the Muslim cabinet ministers to step down from the cabinet.

Replying to the governor’s address on Wednesday, Mr. Thackeray, who is also Sena president, had said, “Everyone else ran away after Babri demolition, but it was Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray who owned up the responsibility saying that if my Shiv Sainiks have done this, I am proud of them.”

Mr Thackeray’s statement did not go down well with the Samajwadi party, which extended its support to the MVA government.

Speaking with the reporters on Thursday, Mr. Azmi said that his party supported the Thackeray government in order to keep the BJP out of power.

The SP has two MLAs and have extended support to Thackeray government. “The Congress and NCP had supported this government on the common minimum programme. Uddhav Thackerayji has forgotten that he is a chief minister (of Maha-rashtra). The Supreme Court had mentioned in its judgement that keeping an idol in Babri Masjid and demolition of Babri Masjid are ‘criminal activities’,” he said.

It is unfortunate that the chief minister spoke so proudly about criminal acts, Mr Azmi added.
