Rape accused gets 20 years RI

A 39-year-old accused who was earlier arrested by the Mangalhat police for raping a minor girl was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of `10,000 by the Nampally court on Thursday.

The accused, identified as Sukrat Singh Uikey alias Birju, 39, was a resident of Upper Dhoolpet,

● ON OCTOBER 7, 2020, when the victim was playing with her brother, the accused lured her with chocolate and gave his smartphone to her brother to watch videos while he sexually assaulted her,” said the police.

Mangalhat, said the police, adding that he was arrested by the police on October 9, 2020 for raping a minor girl aged about 5.

“The victim was residing along with her parents and her elder brother in a rented room beside the accused’s room. On October 7, 2020, at about 4 pm, when the victim was playing with her brother outside their room, the accused lured her with chocolate and gave his smartphone to her brother to watch videos while he sexually assaulted her,” said the police.

After she complained to her mother about the incident, a police case was booked and the man arrested on October 9, 2020.

On Thursday, the Nampally court pronounced the judgment. The accused was lodged at the Central Prison in Chanchalguda.
