KCR taking credit for Centre’s schemes: BJP

Bandi says CM is habituated to breaking his promises

- DC CORRESPONDENT

BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao took credit for the welfare schemes of the central government by covering their brands with his own photo and name.

The BJP chief stated this while participating in a roadshow on the last day of campaign for the Nagarjunasagar by poll with former MP Vijayashanti at Halia on Thursday. The BJP leaders on the roadshow sought votes for the party nominee Dr Ravikumar.

Bandi said chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has a habit of breaking the promises he makes to the people on occasions. He asked the chief minister why had the state government failed to open the Nizam sugar factory as was promised by KCR before the assembly elections.

“The BJP gave a formidable challenge to the ruling TRS at the Dubbaka bypoll and the GHMC polls. Now, the BJP wants the CM to state clearly as to how much funds the government had sanctioned for the Nagarjunasagar constituency and how much more could be expected from him now,” he said.

The BJP leader claimed that the Union Government had given `398 crore for the Nagarjunasagar constituency for its developmental activities. Of this, a sum of `105 crore was given by Center under the PM Kisan scheme, he said.

He asked the chief minister to explain why he did not respond to the directive from the Union ministry of tribal welfare in 2015 to increase the reservation for STs from 4 per cent to 6 per cent, and why K. Chandrashekar Rao was not implementing this in Telangana. “The chief minister is interested only in increasing the religious reservations and the BJP is opposed to this,” he said.

Bandi Sanjay alleged that K. Chandrashekar Rao as chief minister “is the most corrupt leader” and said the CM has neglected the Nagarjunasagar constituency. This was indirectly admitted by the CM at his public meeting on Wednesday, the BJP leader said.

The Podu lands problem was a creation of chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and now he is promising to solve the problem, he said.

Bandi alleged that the TRS and the Congress colluded in a by-poll to defeat the BJP candidate but the people knew what the BJP was and voted for it. He appealed to the voters to do the same for the BJP in this by-poll too.

BJP leader Vijayashanti said KCR will be removed from power with the people’s support. She appealed to the people to once again raise the slogan of Veera Telangana for removal of K. Chandrashekar Rao from power.

Vijayashanti alleged that KCR made many promises before the last assembly polls but failed to fulfill these. She cited instances like the promise to grant three acres of land for each Dalit family, as also double-bedroom houses for them, the promise on Bhagiratha water and grant of unemployment dole to jobless youths.
