HC SEEKS DETAILS OF CHILDREN MISSING FROM TS

The Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the State government to place details about how many children have gone missing in each police station limits in the State and how many have been tracked so far and how many of them were reunited with their families.

A division bench, headed by Chief Justice Hima Kohli, was dealing with PILs related to constituti­on of Child Welfare Committees in all the 33 districts of Telangana. The state government submitted that CWCs have been constitute­d in 30 districts and urged for closing the PILs.

But, the court expressed concern over instances of child traffickin­g and steps taken by the State to curb the menace. It suggested the government to utilise ‘Track Child Version 3’ with all states and the Centre to locate the missing children.
