CID ISSUES NOTICE TO TD LEADER FOR DISTORTING CM JAGAN’S WORDS

The CID has issued notices to former minister and Telugu Desam leader Devineni Umamaheshw­ara Rao, seeking his presence before for a hearing at its Kurnool office following a complaint that he distorted chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's words. The notice was attached to the wall of his residence in Gollapudi Thursday morning. In the complaint, Rao is accused of distorting the words of the CM and showing morphed videos through a Tablet/I-phone on April 7 during the Tirupati byelection campaign.

Rao alleged the summons was politicall­y motivated and sought ten days’ time to appear before the CID. Advocate N Narayana Reddy, president of the YSRC legal cell’s core committee for Kurnool district lodged the complaint with the CID.
