4 members of family found dead in Vizag

-

Four members of a family were found dead under suspicious circumstances in a flat in Aditya Fortune Towers at Mithilapuri Colony, Madhurawada under PM Palem police station limits in Visakhapatnam city.

The deceased were identified as Sunkari Bangaru Naidu (49), Dr Sunkari Nirmala (44), Sunkari Deepak (21) and Sunkari Kashyap (19).

The police said neighbours heard shouting at 2 am and two hours later they found smoke emanating from the flat. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and broke open the front door with a crowbar. They found bodies of Bangaru Naidu, Dr Nirmala and Kashyap scattered from the main door to hall and bedroom. The body of Deepak was found in the bathroom and he was wearing a suit and tie.

A senior officer said as per preliminary investigation, there could have been a heated argument which went out of hands. The elder son might have stabbed his parents and younger brother as stab wounds and lacerated wounds were found on the bodies.

Later he might have tried to escape by raising a fire through a cooking gas cylinder but got trapped in the smoke and died. Dog squad, CLUES team and professor of forensic medicine visited the crime spot and made minute observations.

The police said the apartment was gated and fully secure with CCTV cameras placed at every strategic point.

There were also security personnel round the clock. The CCTV footage revealed that none entered the apartment during the entire night of Wednesday. The last person to enter the flat was Bangaru Naidu at 8.56 pm.

A case under Section 302, 201 of IPC was registered at PM Palem police station on Thursday and the bodies were sent to King George Hospital for autopsy.
