MP: CAMPAIGN FOR DAMOH BYPOLL ENDS

-

Campaigning for April 17 by-elections to Damoh Assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh, which has remained low key all through due to the Coronavirus pandemic, ended on Thursday afternoon.

The usual din and bustle of electioneering was missing in the constituency with the traditional rivals, ruling BJP and Opposition Congress, seen avoiding big rallies and public meetings to protect their leaders and workers from contracting the virus.

Both the parties were seen organising mass contact programmes to drum up support for their respective candidates.

Senior BJP leaders such as Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union minister Prahlad Patel and Rajya Sabha member Jyotiraditya Scindia held election rallies on different days to canvass for their party candidate Rahul Singh Lodhi.

Former CM Kamal Nath also led a rally of Congress in Damoh to seek votes for his party candidate Ajey Tondon.
