VHR TELLS TRS TO DECLARE HEALTH EMERGENCY

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Veteran Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao on Friday accused the TRS government of being a mute spectator to the havoc caused by Covid19, though it has been rampant not only in the capital but also in the entire state.

He said people have been suffering due to non-availability of vaccines. “No beds are available in government and private corporate hospitals. The government is not taking any concrete initiative to protect precious lives,” he said.

The Congress leader said thte TRS government seemed only interested in holding election after election.

He maintained that was unfair that the State Election Commission had issued the notification for holding municipal elections when the Coronavirus is on the rise and hundreds of people are getting struck by the virus.

“Is winning municipal elections more important to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao than saving the lives of people? KCR has become an addict to elections.

I demand that the TRS government utilise the rooms in LB Stadium, Uppal Stadium and other places to accommodate Covid patients and provide necessary treatment to them,” Hanumantha Rao demanded.

He pointed out that accommodation at Gachibowli stadium had earlier been used for treating Covid-19 patients. There are 60 rooms in Uppal stadium. The state government could also declare a health emergency and take over all spacious farm houses in Chevella, Ibrahimpatnam, Sangareddy, Patancheru, Keesara, and Medchal for treating Covid-19 patients.
